On June 11, 2020, Huawei and the ICT Authority announced the recruitment of the fifth cohort of DigiTalents, a program that enables students to acquire the latest skills training while leveraging private sector partnerships.
Working together, Huawei and the ICT Authority will train 400 DigiTalents through an online portal that matches them to internships and mentors, as well as a platform for submitting and assessing innovations.
Since 2014, the ICT Authority has partnered with Huawei to build the nationwide fiber backbone network, provide a cutting-edge cloud data center, and offer training for the DigiTalents.
With its East Africa Training Center in Kenya, Huawei has been able to provide training to over 30 universities and institutes, and access to the best global training materials.
Over 150 DigiTalents will receive training and, upon passing an exam, will be certified free-of-charge, joining the more than 1,200 students who have been trained through the program in recent years.
After completing their testing, participants will have access to free Huawei learning resources and tools, including eNSP, Fusion Computer, and different AI models.
They will also become Huawei Certified ICT Associates and will be fast-tracked for future job interviews and hiring by Huawei and its partners.
