East African Community states are set to roll out digital Covid-19 certificates for truck drivers to ease border congestion.
According to reports, the move aims to eliminate traffic snarl-ups currently experienced along border points, such as the Uganda-Kenya border in Busia, where congestion has lasted over three weeks.
Drivers are expected to have a valid Covid-19-free certificate during transit, which is to be renewed every 14 days.
