On June 10, 2020, a historic deal was reached between British heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, paving the way for two blockbuster fights in 2021.

The agreement, confirmed by both camps, will see Joshua, the WBA, IBF, and WBO belt holder, face Fury, the WBC champion, in a bid to determine the undisputed king of the heavyweight scene.

According to Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, the terms for the fights are in place, but no contracts have been signed yet.

‘We’re making great progress. There is still a lot to overcome. We are looking at venues and dates,’ Hearn told Sky Sports.

Joshua is set to face Kubrat Pulev next, while Fury has a rematch due with Deontay Wilder.

‘The biggest fight in British boxing history has just been agreed. Two-fight deal. Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua next year,’ Fury announced on Instagram.
