On June 12, fans of the late Brooklyn-born rapper Pop Smoke will be eagerly awaiting the release of his posthumous album, which features a star-studded lineup including Nigerian superstars Burna Boy and Davido.
According to a tweet by Davido on May 15, he will be lending his touch to the album, although the nature of his contribution remains unclear.
Grammy award nominee Burna Boy, on the other hand, will be featured on the track 'Drink Freely', according to leaked audio.
Pop Smoke's manager Steven Victor had previously announced the release date for the highly anticipated project, which was met with strong indications from Pop Smoke's team that the album would be released as scheduled.
Pop Smoke was tragically shot and killed on February 19 in a Los Angeles home he was staying at, and his death was met with an outpouring of tributes from the music industry.
50 Cent, a close friend and collaborator of Pop Smoke, had vowed to keep his memory alive by finishing the album, which he reportedly roped in Drake, Post Malone, Chris Brown, and Roddy Ricch to contribute to.
