On June 10, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 cases surpassed the 3,000 mark, with 105 new infections reported, including nine foreigners.

The country's health ministry analyzed 2,273 samples within a 24-hour period, leading to the increased number of reported infections.

Out of the 3,094 total cases, 1,048 individuals have been discharged since April 1, with 175 recoveries reported within 24 hours, marking the highest single-day recovery rate.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman attributed the increased recoveries to the dedication of healthcare workers on the frontlines battling the coronavirus disease.

The youngest case was a 2-year-old, while the oldest was 77 years old, according to Aman during the daily press briefing.

The new cases were reported among 77 males and 28 females, with 43 cases traced in Nairobi, 18 in Busia, 11 in Mombasa, and 7 in Turkana.

Other cases were reported in Migori (6), Kwale (6), Kiambu (5), Kilifi (3), Machakos (3), Taita Taveta (2), Kisumu (2), Uasin Gishu (1), Kajiado (1), Siaya (1), and Garissa (1).
