ODM has confirmed that one of its staff members has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Aga Khan Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, June 3.
The staffer, Mr Ben Musungu, who is the director of Youth Affairs, was diagnosed with pneumonia and later developed complications that led to the Covid-19 diagnosis.
According to ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Mr Musungu developed fever and severe pains in the body and joints, prompting him to seek medical attention at the Aga Khan Satellite Clinic along Ngong' Road.
Mr Sifuna assured the Orange fraternity that Mr Musungu is receiving the best possible medication and is responding well to treatment.
"We would like to urge anyone who interacted with Mr Musungu in the last 14 days prior to Wednesday, June 3 to volunteer for testing to avoid further spread of the disease," Mr Sifuna said.
Mr Musungu had contested for the Kibra by-election after the death of Ken Okoth in July last year, but lost in the ODM nomination to the eventual winner, Imran Okoth.
