On June 10, 2020, a tragic incident unfolded in Meru County, where Charles Mwenda was forced to spend a night at Tigania Police Station with his wife's body.

Relatives were barred from proceeding to their home for burial, leaving Mr. Mwenda to face this unimaginable situation alone.

Popular Facebook user Ndungu Nyoro mobilized a funds drive to help support the man and his three young children, raising a total of Sh570,469 in just three days.

Mr. Nyoro expressed gratitude to the Kenyan community for their love and kindness, stating, 'We thank God for allowing you to be a guardian angel to a young family who may have been denied an opportunity to grieve and send off their mother and wife with love and dignity. The children never got to bury their mother.'

Mr. Mwenda's wife had succumbed to cancer, and he had spent thousands of shillings treating her before her passing.
