On December 11, 2019, Paris St Germain's Neymar was involved in a private conversation with friends that was leaked to the press, in which he used homophobic language against his mother's companion, Tiago Ramos.
According to an audio recording of the conversation, Neymar referred to Tiago as a 'little fagot' and 'motherfucker', while one of his friends suggested that Tiago should 'put a broom in the ass'. The conversation was reportedly recorded in 2019.
Activist Agripino Magalhaes has announced plans to file a complaint for 'homophobia and hate speech' against Neymar at the São Paulo public prosecutor's office.
The prosecution has confirmed receipt of the complaint, which will now be studied by a prosecutor to determine whether to proceed with charges against the Brazilian star.
Neymar's entourage has declined to comment on the allegations.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Neymar has been accused of misconduct. In 2019, he was accused of rape by a Brazilian woman, but the case was dismissed for lack of conclusive evidence.
