Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru's visit to ODM leader Raila Odinga on June 9, 2020, has sparked intense speculation on social media that she has dumped Deputy President William Ruto.
Waruguru, accompanied by Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, met with Raila at his residence, where they discussed critical national issues, including constitutional reforms and national unity.
According to Raila, the discussion centered on the need for national unity and support for the President, whom he commended for being 'courageous and strong.'
Waruguru has been a vocal critic of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, which has been a subject of controversy in recent times. In November 2019, she publicly insulted Governor Anne Waiguru for leading the BBI crusade during the Kibra by-elections, advising her to focus on her marriage.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, a staunch supporter of Raila, welcomed Waruguru to the ODM camp, saying she had been 'stolen by the devil' but had now seen the light.
