On June 9, 2020, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru became the latest casualty of a censure motion, as 23 ward representatives voted in favor of her impeachment.

According to Assembly records, six members did not attend the sitting, while four members opted to abstain during the debate.

None of the members present during the debate defended the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary, who was accused of abuse of power, gross misconduct, and irregular awarding of tenders by Mutira Ward Representative David Kinyua Wangui.

Assembly Speaker Anthony Waweru announced that he would forward the resolutions of the House to Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka.
