On June 9, 2020, a significant meeting took place at Raila Odinga's Capitol Hill offices, marking a turning point in the relationship between the ODM leader and Laikipia Women Representative Catherine Waruguru.

Waruguru, a vocal critic of the handshake between Raila and Uhuru, had been at odds with the unity pact, claiming it was meant to destroy Jubilee and make Raila president in 2022.

However, in a surprising move, Waruguru booked an appointment with Raila after her previous attempts to reach him failed, and the two met at Capitol Hill offices.

Junet Mohammed, the Suna East MP, was also present in the meeting, which marked a significant shift in Waruguru's stance towards Raila.

Waruguru has profusely apologized to Raila for her previous crude comments and vernal attacks, signaling a new chapter in their relationship.
