Keeping Kids Busy During Lockdown: 5 Fun Craft Ideas ¶
As the lockdown continues, parents are looking for ways to keep their kids entertained and engaged. One great way to do this is through crafts. Not only are they fun, but they also help foster creativity and can be a great way to bond with your child.
Here are five craft ideas that you can try with your kids during the lockdown:
1. Thumbprint Family Tree ¶
Use this opportunity to educate your child about their family members. Start with their grandparents at the base of the tree and include everyone in your extended family. Use different colors of paint for the thumbprints to make it more interesting.
2. DIY Snow Globe ¶
Get a clear glass jar and fill it with glitter glue and some glitter. Screw the lid on tight and you have a DIY snow globe. This is a great way to keep your kids occupied and create a fun and unique decoration.
3. Collage ¶
Allow your kids to express their creativity with a collage. They can create different pieces of art and then stick them on some manila paper. You can include photos from your adventures and some from magazines on the collage and hang it up on the wall.
4. Paper Mache Bowls ¶
Remember doing paper mache in primary school? It's a fun and creative activity that you can do with your kids. Use old newspapers to make glue by mixing flour and water into a paste. Cut the newspapers into strips, dip them into the paste, and place them on a bowl. Leave to dry for about 24 hours and then paint the paper mache bowls in your favorite colors.
5. Bubble Wrap Prints ¶
Use bubble wrap to make prints. Wrap it around a container of your choice, apply paint on the bubble wrap, and make prints on a piece of paper. Use different colors of paint and you have a simple, colorful piece of art that you can frame.
There are many more crafts you can do with your kids during this lockdown. This is the perfect time to bond with them and encourage them to get creative.
