The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the organizers of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, to shift the 117th session online.
According to a statement from the Ministry, the online exhibition will take place from June 15th to 24th, 2020, on the official website of the Canton Fair.
Approximately 25,000 exhibitors, who have confirmed their booths for this session, will display their products online, categorized according to their exhibition sections.
The Ministry has assured that all necessary preparations are underway to ensure a smooth online experience, in line with the arrangements made by the China Foreign Trade Centre, the organizer of the Canton Fair.
"We strive to hold an especially wonderful 'online Canton Fair' with special significance through special measures in this unprecedented time," the Ministry said.
The online Canton Fair will provide around-the-clock services for product promotion, matchmaking, and business negotiations, enabling both Chinese and international businesses to place orders remotely.
The exhibition sections of the National Pavilion and International Pavilion will be arranged as in the previous session, with a Traditional Chinese Specialty section also being set up.
With 50 exhibition sections covering 16 major categories in the National Pavilion and 6 major categories in the International Pavilion, the online Canton Fair aims to provide a comprehensive platform for international trade cooperation.
As an all-round opening-up platform, the Canton Fair has operated uninterrupted for 63 years, making tremendous contributions to international trade cooperation.
Domestic and overseas buyers can register or log in on the official website of the Canton Fair to join various activities online.
