June 9, 2020 - Dr. Wilfred Marube, a renowned public relations expert, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (Brand.KE) for a period of three years.
The agency, a merger between the Brand Kenya Board and the Export Promotion Council (EPC), was established in August 2019. Its primary goal is to serve as a one-stop-shop for exports promotion and country branding initiatives in Kenya.
Dr. Marube brings a wealth of experience in communication management to the role. He is a practitioner and researcher in the field and has made significant contributions to the public relations industry. He is currently the President of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) and a member of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management Board.
As the new CEO, Dr. Marube will oversee a team of over 100 staff members from the two merged institutions. He has pledged to work closely with management and the board to transform Kenya into a top global brand.
Dr. Marube's appointment comes at a time when the country is facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has expressed his commitment to promoting Kenyan exports innovatively and bringing the country back to its former glory.
