As of June 9, 2020, Kenya's Ministry of Health warned that the coronavirus disease could spread to all counties in the country over the next few weeks.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, the ministry's strained testing capacity is likely hindering the detection of the virus in remote regions.
Kenya has reported 2,862 Covid-19 cases, with 95 new cases announced over the last 24 hours.
Only nine counties, including Samburu and Tana River, out of the 47 counties have not yet reported a case.
The ministry has directed counties to ramp up infrastructure and increase the number of healthcare workers, with a Sh5 billion conditional grant set to be sent to all 47 counties for expansion of infrastructure and stocking up materials.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed counties to have at least 300 beds in isolation centres for Covid-19 patients.
