FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi has been given the green light to play against Mallorca on Saturday, despite some tightness in his right thigh. His coach, Quique Setien, confirmed this on Sunday.

On Saturday, Messi had trained alone at Camp Nou after missing two sessions, sparking doubts about his fitness for the trip to the Balearic Islands. However, Setien assured that Messi's problem is minor and under control.

"Messi is not the only one who has not trained and feels embarrassed," Setien told Spanish chain Movistar. "This is what has happened to almost all the injured since their return."

Setien also expressed optimism about the state of form of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, who had undergone surgery on January 12 for an external meniscus injury in his right knee. Suarez had obtained the medical green light to return to competition, but Setien was more circumspect about his readiness to start the match.

Barcelona are the La Liga leaders, two points ahead of their rival Real Madrid, ahead of the 28th matchday, which begins on Thursday with an Andalusian derby between Sevilla FC and Betis.
