CIC Insurance Group Appoints New Group Chief Executive ¶
On June 8, 2020, CIC Insurance Group announced the appointment of Patrick Nyaga as its new Group Chief Executive, replacing Tom Gitogo who exited in October 2020.
According to the insurer's Board, Nyaga brings with him key strengths that will enable him to steer the company through the challenging times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Group Chairman Japheth Magomere praised Nyaga's track record as a champion for strategy, his broad experience in operational efficiency, and his diverse leadership experience, saying they will be of great benefit to CIC Insurance Group.
Nyaga joins CIC Insurance Group from Cooperative Bank Group, where he served as Head of Finance and Strategy. He is set to take office on June 22, 2020.
CIC Insurance Group is made up of three subsidiaries and an associate company, including CIC Life Assurance, CIC General Insurance Limited, CIC Asset Management Limited, and Takaful Insurance of Africa Limited.
