Leaders in Murang'a have taken a firm stance against Members of Parliament (MPs) who disrespect President Uhuru Kenyatta, urging them to leave the Jubilee party.
Speaking to the press on Monday, Murang'a branch Chairman of the Jubilee Party, Simon Kamau Gikuru, expressed his disappointment with MPs who have been openly insulting the President.
Specifically, Kamau targeted Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Kandara MP Alice Wahome, who have been critical of the President's administration on several occasions.
According to Kamau, the two MPs have been disrespecting the President without any valid reason, and he has vowed to take disciplinary action against them.
“We are going to have a delegates’ consultations and take appropriate disciplinary measures to the two leaders who have been going around insulting the Head of the State,” Kamau said.
He also suggested that the two MPs should follow the example of the late Kenneth Matiba, who resigned from the Kanu party after falling out with the government.
Other leaders present at the press conference, including MCAs Amos Murigi, Samuel Wamwea, Stanley Mburu, and Charles Mwangi, echoed Kamau's sentiments, calling for the two MPs to be disciplined or leave the party.
