On June 8, 2020, Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan explained why she has welcomed Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz into her life after years of a tumultuous relationship.
The two had a highly publicized breakup due to claims of Diamond's serial infidelity.
However, it appears that all the pain and drama of their relationship and eventual breakup is now in the past.
When a social media user expressed concern that Zari should be wary of Diamond's intentions, she responded with a quote from a fan: 'Your past has nothing to do with your future. Your decisions do.'
She also shared another quote: 'When they stop talking TO you, they start talking ABOUT you.'
The fan reminded Zari that Diamond is not supporting his son with Tanasha, and that she has chosen to raise her child without his involvement.
Reacting to this, the fan asked Zari, 'Tanasha says she doesn’t need support to raise her boy… she is strong enough to do it herself…here they call you queen yet unaomba msaada.'
Defending herself, Zari explained that letting Diamond back into her life has nothing to do with money, but rather about his parental responsibility in raising their children.
She wrote, 'It is a father’s responsibility to be in their children’s life whether it’s a financial obligation or just emotional. He needs to communicate so they can know him. Note the difference. I’ve never asked my baby father for any financial support. I wanted my children to know him. To be in their lives, it’s their birthright. Not everything is always about money.'
