On 22nd June 2020, CIC Insurance Group PLC welcomed Mr Patrick Nyaga as the new Group Chief Executive Officer, a position approved by the Insurance Regulatory Authority.
Mr Nyaga brings over 28 years of experience in Kenya and the region, having worked with Barclays Bank (ABSA), KPMG, and most recently as the Group Finance & Strategy Director for Co-operative Bank Group.
According to Japheth Magomere, the Group Chairman, Mr Nyaga's key strengths include his connections with the co-operative movement, which is CIC's core market segment and primary shareholder base.
Mr Nyaga is also well-positioned to implement globally acclaimed performance drivers, such as operational efficiency, cost savings, and digitization, which he has successfully implemented in his previous roles.
As stated by Japheth Magomere, Mr Nyaga's track record as a champion for strategy, broad experience in operational efficiency, and diverse leadership experience will be of great benefit to CIC Insurance Group.
