The arrest, made swiftly following a distressing report, brings a suspect into custody for a crime that has shocked the community.
The incident unfolded when authorities received a disturbing report of a young child found unconscious approximately 50 meters from the PCEA Shalom Mchanganyiko Church.
Despite immediate response and efforts to save her, the three-year-old, identified as Margaret Wanjiru Kirathe, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kenlands Hospital.
Preliminary investigations by DCI officers indicate that the 17-year-old suspect, identified as Lizz Njeri Mwangi, allegedly lured little Margaret away from the church premises.

Upon her arrest, officers recovered the clothes the suspect was seen wearing during the commission of the offence, as captured on CCTV footage.
Crucially, the piece of cloth believed to have been used in the strangulation was also recovered.
