“You Have No Moral Authority To Lecture Us” — Netizens Troll New KRA Boss James Mburu
Newsroom Updated 3 min read
Newly appointed KRA Boss James Mburu was on Tuesday night given a proper welcome to the taxman's hot seat by savage “KOT” who didn't hold anything back when it came to their comments.
While appearing on Citizen TV's 9 p.m news, John Njiraini's successor provoked Kenyans after by claiming that the country wouldn't need to borrow any money if citizens paid their taxes “in the right way”.
Mburu, who, according to a local blog, was fired from CFC Bank over incompetence and high-handedness, would later regret having made the triggering remark on LIVE TV after a swarm of angry netizens flooded the post's comments section with some hilarious responses.
Many felt that the man who formerly served as the deputy commissioner at KRA had no moral authority to lecture them due to his poor record in posts he has previously held.
They also expressed their displeasure over how taxes are handled in the country; where huge chunks end up in greedy cartels' pockets instead of development and provision of services.
