Kanze Dena, Spokesperson, Executive Office of the President
Kenyans are wondering where their president is.
The president has not been seen as once he went to China towards the end of April 2019.
The president who was accompanied by the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga in April on what was termed as a trip to borrow Kshs. 380 billion for the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to western Kenya.
Clarifications later given, is that the ODM leader Raila Odinga's visit to China has coincided with Uhuru's. They were on different missions to China.
Raila was attending the Belt & Road Initiative in his capacity as AU high representative for infrastructure development, whereas Uhuru was going for a SGR loan.
Though state House continues to deny this.
Today, state house communications officer Kanze Dena, speaking at Radio Maisha has the following to day about the whereabouts of the head of state.
We've picked some tweets from the State House Official Twitter account @StateHouseKenya
"I am shocked that people say they haven't seen the President since he left China, yet on 3rd of this month he had a meeting with executives from Global Fund and there was a Statement about it" ~ @KanzeDena
"The President is around, it doesn't mean that because he is not seen in public he is not there, he has an office where he goes every day and he is working on several things" ~ @KanzeDena
On those that asked why Uhuru had disappeared after deactivating his social media accounts, Kanze had the following to day.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta's Social Media accounts are his personal accounts. He has the right to activate or deactivate them as he wills. He has his reasons, and we respect that" ~ @KanzeDena
