Weird Adverts: GoK Desperation On Huduma Namba Is Showing; Laughable
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
The government driven unpopular mass re-registration of Kenyans infamously known as Huduma Namba seems to be unsuccessful even as the 17th May, 2019 deadline approaches.
Though the government of Kenya (GoK), through the Cabinet secretary for Interior Dr. Fred Matiang'i boasts that over 23 million Kenyans have registered; they continue to advertise the scheme like a witchdoctor would advertise his services.
GoK has now employed a local media house which is using both Kenyans and foreigners to advertise the mysterious-no-value-to-Kenyans service.
In fact, the use of a foreign national to advertise the service was the new low for GoK.
A Kenyan criticised the move terming it as racist and desperate. 'So after Collymore, the govt still bring a MZUNGU whose criminal ancestors looted our country dry, raped our women and brutalized our kith and kin to run an advert? How many Kenyans appear in adverts in the country where this man comes from? He has given me a better reason not to register.... They are exporting Kenyan jobs to the country where that colonial descendant comes from', a social media user commented.
More Kenyans have trolled the move as seen from the tweets we sampled below:
