Video: Victor Wanyama sends fans crazy as he scores brilliant goal for Tottenham Hotspur
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
This afternoon, Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama scored his first goal of the season as Tottenham Hotspur hosted already relegated Huddersfield town.
After a quite uneventful opening period at Spur's new stadium, it was not much of a surprise that it was a bit of a strange goal that broke the deadlock.
Eriksen fired up another pass into Llorente, and the big Spaniard completely miss controled it, but in doing so fooled the defender who had come out to pressure him.
This left the ball to run free into the Huddersfield area and Wanyama calmly rounded the goalkeeper to score.
There might have been an element of fortune about the lead up but it was definitely a really nicely taken goal.
Wanyama was alive to the situation and anticipated well; touching the ball beyond the Huddersfield defence and through his quick feet, finding the back of the net and putting Spurs ahead with his first goal for the club in over a year.
Here is the goal below.
