VIDEO — American Singer Akon Talks About Terror Attacks In Kenya

Just days after a terror attack at the Dusit Hotel in Riverside Drive, a video of American singer Aliaune Damala Badara popularly known as Akon, talking during the Youth Connekt Africa Summit in 2017 has once again surfaced online.
In the very insightful video, Akon talks about how Africa needs to market and brand itself in a positive way in order to change how it is negatively perceived by those living outside the continent.
As an example, Akon looks at how America brands and markets itself to the rest of the world. He says, even though there is a lot of violence and killing within the country, very few negative stories ever make it to the media.
He says that the press needs to start reporting differently about Africa and goes on to give an example on the terror attacks Kenya has faced so far, adding that, due to negative reporting by the press, many people around the world ended up perceiving the African nation as extremely violent and unsafe.
