Northlands Estate: Artistic Impression of Kenyatta Family Kshs. 500 billion city under construction in Ruiru.

An estate owned by the Kenyatta family is building a dam near an existing school.

The contractors of the Northlands estate which is under construction, started digging the ground for the construction of a dam despite the school nearby which is occupied by children.

Seems someone is quick to construct the dam before schools open in April and claim rights to the whole land.

We know the drill, the owner of the estate will demolish the school.

Kenyans we are treated like trash. Sigh!

Read below the information we received:-

Hi Nyakundi,

This is about development of Northlands Estate in Kahawa Sukari.

I am a parent at Kahawa Sukari Academy, so recently when I went for my kids' closing ceremony, I saw so many lorries transporting sand on the land bordering the school.

I asked someone what was going on and he told me a dam is being constructed next to the school.

My question is: First, Is it okay to have a dam next to a school?

Secondly, does Kenyatta really care about these kids?

The dust is affecting our children, my small girl used not to be okay, but nowadays she suffers from constant coughing. She is also complaining of chest pain.

Thirdly, did the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) do an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of the dam?

Fourthly, did they involve important stakeholders like parents?

I even doubt that they involved the school's management.

Please highlight this.
