Twitter Returns Purged Followers After Drastic Drop In Stock Value

This past week many Twitter users have been witnessing an abnormal increase in their follower count. Some receiving up to hundreds of followers everyday but not getting any notifications on who followed them.

This came just a few days after Twitter's stock value drastically dropped from 47 USD to 27 USD and word has it that Jack Dorsey panicked and decided to return the followers the platform had purged in mid 2018. The mega-purge had affected some of the biggest accounts on Twitter including the United States President Donald Trump who also lost hundreds of thousands of followers.

The number of active monthly Twitter users in Kenya has been rapidly dropping since the platform went on a suspension spree and got rid of many influential accounts including that of blogger Cyprian Nyakundi.

The company has also recorded a huge decrease in monthly sign-ups.

This move by Twitter clearly shows their hypocrisy because these accounts had been purged on the basis of “making Twitter a safer place” and the decision to return them after the stock value fell sends a message that all Jack really cares about is the profits and not the users and the safety of the platform as he might want us to believe.

Jack Dorsey is yet to say anything about this matter I reckon he will rubbish these claims off and say it's just a “glitch”, and give many excuses like he always does.
