Tame Farouk Kibet – Wajackoyah Warns Ruto to Control His Rogue Aide

Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah has launched a bold attack on President William Ruto’s powerful aide, Farouk Kibet, demanding that the head of state “tame” him.

Speaking in Siaya County, Wajackoyah accused Farouk of overstepping his role, misleading the nation, and tarnishing Ruto’s name.

He warned that unchecked power in the hands of political aides like Farouk is fueling public discontent.

Wajackoyah also urged Ruto to reach out to students disillusioned with his leadership, particularly after the Nakuru drama festival debacle.

Ruto Must Tame Farouk Kibet Before He Wrecks the Nation

George Wajackoyah didn’t mince his words. At a public event in Siaya, he issued a fiery call to President Ruto: control Farouk Kibet or risk total disillusionment among Kenyans.

“If you didn’t handle Raila wisely, this country would’ve burned,” Wajackoyah said. “But now, Mr. President, go and tame Farouk and his group. Tell them to calm down—this country is bigger than them.”

Farouk Kibet has long stood as one of Ruto’s closest aides. But critics say he behaves less like an assistant and more like a shadow president.

According to insiders, Farouk channels the president’s directives straight to cabinet secretaries, senior government officers, and even police bosses—effectively bypassing official government structures.

Wajackoyah’s remarks follow weeks of growing discontent about the unchecked power wielded by Farouk. He’s become synonymous with behind-the-scenes political manipulation and loyalty enforcement inside Ruto’s government.

“Co-President” or Power-Hungry Aide? Gachagua Also Sounded the Alarm

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has also taken issue with Farouk’s influence. In an explosive interview on KTN, Gachagua claimed that Farouk acted like a “co-president,” controlling high-level government decisions and interfering in his office.

“Farouk Kibet is not a small man,” Gachagua said. “He runs the government. Everybody reports to him—the IG of Police, the Head of Public Service, Cabinet Secretaries. Ruto gives instructions to ministers through him. Ministers tremble when they see him.”

Gachagua also accused Farouk of soliciting bribes from individuals seeking government positions. He said their frequent conflicts stemmed from his refusal to be controlled by Farouk.

Such explosive claims from both Wajackoyah and Gachagua paint a picture of a government being run from behind the curtain—by a man who was never elected.

Wajackoyah also used his platform to call out Ruto for failing to win the hearts of young people. Speaking during the burial of George Nyang’ira Oduor, Raila Odinga’s aide, he pointed to the recent chaos at the National Drama Festival in Nakuru.

Police blocked Butere Girls High School from performing Echoes of War, a play written by Cleophas Malala. Wajackoyah said the move alienated young Kenyans and showed a disregard for freedom of expression.

“Mr. President, when you go back home, invite Butere Girls and their principal. Sit down, have tea with them. Thank them. Visit their school and fix this relationship,” Wajackoyah advised.

He added that Kenyan school children now dislike the president because of what happened in Nakuru—a chilling indictment of the state’s growing disconnect with the youth.

Rogue Aides Like Farouk Could Be Ruto’s Undoing

The political message is loud and clear. Wajackoyah and Gachagua—two men on opposite ends of Kenya’s political spectrum—are sounding the same alarm: Farouk Kibet’s unchecked power is a threat to national unity and democratic accountability.

Ruto’s legacy may not be defined by his policies or promises, but by whether he had the courage to rein in rogue aides. If he fails to act, Farouk Kibet could be the symbol of a presidency lost to internal power games and public frustration.
