CAPTION: CS Joe Mucheru, Cabinet Secretary Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs A group of suppliers who delivered IT equipment to the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs have come out to condemn the Joe Mucheru-led department over its failure to wire payment for the services.

In a message sent to nyakundireport.com under anonymity, a staff member of a company named "Exemplary Traders Limited" claimed that the items were delivered to the Kenya Youth Employment & Opportunities Project (KYEOP) in June 2021 and to date no official communication has been made. "In June this year, our company delivered assorted IT equipment to Kenya Youth  Employment & Opportunities Project(KYEOP). Nearly four months later, we have not been paid our money, despite numerous visits and phone calls to their offices at Bruce House Nairobi and Kencom," he says.' CAPTION: The Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) which is under the ICT Ministry This is despite the Treasury having forwarded funds for the same purpose to Mucheru's ministry. "KYEOP" is under ICT Ministry and the fact is that all the money for the project has been forwarded from the treasury," he adds.

In their cry for justice, the suppliers say that the unfair treatment has resulted in harsh riddle effects given the tough economic times in the country. According to the Kenyan government, the Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) is a project "that aims to empower and uplift the well being of the youth in Kenya by equipping them with essential training, internship and business grant opportunities".

Their goal is to supposedly create employment and earning opportunities among targeted young people across the country.

We shall be following up this story for more updates.
