Residents of South C are voicing their concerns following the construction of flats behind Kenya Medical Association Housing Cooperative Society, alleging that the proximity of the development has led to property damage and blocked windows in nearby homes.
One local resident, who has shared several images documenting the situation, reported that the construction is dangerously close to their property, with one wall collapsing as a result.
The same source also posted further pictures showing how the ongoing construction is blocking windows in their home and how plans are in place to build directly against their wall, severely limiting access to natural light and ventilation.
Efforts to resolve the issue through local authorities, including the city council, have reportedly been unsuccessful, with residents expressing frustration over the lack of assistance.
As the construction continues, residents are calling for intervention from the authorities to ensure their rights are respected and the damages to their properties are addressed.
“Hi Nyakundi. Wanted to ask if you can assist a group of individuals who have tried getting help from the city council but have not been assisted. As you can see, they have blocked the window of the house and want to build the structure on the wall. These are flats being built behind KMA Estate in South C. This is how close they are building. This is one of the neighbor’s walls that fell due to the construction.”
