Story · SCANDAL: The Pain & Suffering Of Nursing Students At KMTC

Students who have been through & who are in Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) have undergone various frustrations especially nurses. Diploma in nursing takes 3½ years but you may find yourself taking up to 4½ yrs due to poor management of the institution.

The students usually undertake an exam (paper 1, 2, 3 & 4) at the end of the course. Initially, if u failed either of the paper you were supposed to do a supplementary with the class that is 6 months behind & pay school fees for the half year.

Nowadays you do the final exam and if you fail it takes u another year to re-do the paper & get registered by nursing council.

The final exam itself takes too long to be released after being completed. For example, the September 2012 class students have not got their results yet.

After graduation the certificates take very long time before being released. Students also pay for transcripts which they never get in time.

We now call on the respective authorities including the Cabinet Secretaries of Health and Education to respond to the issues raised here. We will not tolerate Jubilee's pathetic contempt against young people.

Failure to respond to this post by those nincompoops working under Jubilee will see us resorting to other means to get a response.
