[ad_1] Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, on Thursday, November 21, called out the Governor Mike Sonko over the state of affairs in the Kenyan capital.

Sakaja claimed that Sonko had overseen the collapse of Nairobi, going on to state that the capital was drowning in corruption and mismanagement.

“The people are being treated to all manner of shadow boxing, dramatisation ‘vipindiree ‘ in the name of fighting cartels.

“Nairobians are demanding accountability of the billions of shillings that have been allocated to Nairobi annually,” he spoke. Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja (left) and Governor Mike Sonko at City Hall on September 6, 2017, during the swearing-in of MCAs. He went on to blast the governor over what he termed as a rule of impunity.

Senator Sakaja led a group of legislators from multiple parties in a joint press conference where they went on to make several demands directed at Sonko.

Sonko’s decision to operate without a deputy as well as his decision to fire his ministers and only hire their replacements on a temporary basis was questioned.

They went on to demand an audit of the entire county including its governor.

Sonko recently ran to the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti following his run-ins with some Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officials.

Speaking during a Radio Citizen interview on Monday, November 18, the outspoken governor revealed that he had sought the DCI’s help in what he termed as a land-grabbing syndicate.

He further appealed to Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji, to commence investigations into the cartel which he claimed grabbed a parcel of land in South C, Nairobi County.
