Prominent hotelier Mohammed Shabbir Noorani Arraigned

Prominent hotelier Mohammed Shabbir Prominent hotelier Mohammed Shabbir Noorani of the Pride in Hotel Chain has today been arraigned before the Milimani law court and charged with two criminal counts in a dispute over the control of the hotel.

He was before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and was charged with maliciously damaging a pride Inn Hotel building .

It is alleged that he committed the offence on various dates between May 1, 2020, and July 1 last year at Pride Inn Hotel Raphta Road in Westlands in Nairobi County.

He is also charged with another count of stealing CCTV, door locks, server room equipment, furniture's and fittings all alleged to be worth over Sh36 million.

The prosecution did not oppose his release on bail but urged the court to order him to deposit his travelling documents.

The court granted him a cash bail of Sh1 million and directed him to deposit his passport.

The case will be mentioned on September 8 of this year.
