Posta Kenya officials accused of coercing clients into paying hefty prices during package postage

Posta Kenya is one of the most corrupt institution in Kenya be it in Nairobi or Mombasa.

I have had bad experiences at the Mombasa GPO. They’re asking clients who get packages from abroad to pay huge sums of cash in the name of KRA taxes.

There is a Kamba old hag there who is very notorious and steals from people. She goes to extent of asking clients to open their packages and give her some stuff if they’re not able to pay what she wants.

If you ask for KRA pin receipts they don’t give any!

I went to City Square Posta and my package was 1.6 kilograms and I am supposed to pay Ksh. 3,480 but they asked for Ksh. 3,910.

I had to call a friend who works at Likoni Post Office and she confirmed sending a 1.6 KG package to Sweden is Ksh. 3,480.

When my daughter insisted on paying Ksh. 3,480 because that’s what I also insisted on via a WhatsApp call, she refused to send the package.

I even asked her to check their system on the computer and they refused.
