Pictures: Inmates Strike At The Industrial Area Remand Prison
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
There's an inmate strike at the Industrial Area Remand Prison, where they have grievances ranging from corruption, poor living conditions, poor meal rations, delay in prosecutions, mistreatment by prison warders.
The bad treatment has led to many deaths behind the cells, which are hidden from the Githeri media, who are bribed by the Commissioner of Prisons to cover it up.
The prison department is funded with billions each financial year but the monies end up in people's pockets. These remanded fellas are human and deserve better treatment.
This impunity must be independently investigated, changes effected and living conditions improved. Our team will be following up.
