Photos: Police raid racism-linked Madora perfume store in Karen and seize counterfeit products
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
This morning the Anti Counterfeit Agency (ACA) raided the Madora perfume store in Karen and seized fake products estimated to be worth Ksh. 1.5 million.
Two suspects were also arrested over the fake fragrances and and cosmetic products found in the store.
Two years ago, nyakundireport.com exposed the store after they sold a customer a fake brand of fragrance worth Ksh. 40,000 and on issuing a complaint, the Indian store head Mr. Kamlesh hurled racial slurs at the client and arrogantly turned down his request to get a refund.
The client had to drive back home with his his fragrance bottle full of water that he bought at a hefty price.
Today's raid just comes hardly a week after the agency arrested five suspects and confiscated fake electronic goods worth Ksh. 8 million during a raid along Luthuli Avenue.
More raids are set to follow as the agency continues to fight against counterfeit products in the country.
Kenyans on social media couldn't believe that such a highly-rated store could sell counterfeit products to their customers despite their high prices.
Here are photos from the raid below.
