Former customer service representatives recruited through PowerVision to work on behalf of CCK Global, also known as Connective CX, are raising concerns over unpaid wages after going four months without receiving a salary.
In a complaint sent to Nyakundi Report, a former worker says the team was abruptly stopped from working without a proper explanation, leaving employees who had expected to earn a living from the arrangement struggling to understand what happened to their jobs and their pay.
The complainant states that PowerVision contracted the workers to serve Connective CX, which the source identifies as being owned by Kim Velin.
According to the complaint, the workers have not received a single payment since they began working, despite what the source describes as repeated excuses and prolonged back and forth between the two companies. The situation worsened when PowerVision stopped communicating with the affected workers, leaving them without a clear explanation of who was responsible for paying their outstanding wages or when the matter would be resolved.
The complaint also states that this is not the first time workers have faced payment problems involving Kim Velin. The former employee claims another group of workers had previously gone unpaid and that Velin blamed an HR officer he had hired at the time.
The current complaint raises questions about the arrangements between PowerVision and Connective CX, including which party was responsible for employing the representatives, processing their salaries and communicating with them when the work stopped.
PowerVision Consultancy’s website advertises human resource outsourcing, payroll management and employee management services, while CCK Global identifies Kim Velin as its Group CEO and founder.
These published descriptions make it important for the two companies to clarify the working arrangement and respond to the reported four months of unpaid wages. The workers deserve to know who is accountable for their salaries, whether the outstanding amounts will be paid and why their work was stopped without the explanation they say they were owed.
The complaint sent to Nyakundi Report reads:
Hey Cyprian,I had been working for powervision as a customer service representative before they abruptly stopped us from working with no proper explanation and the red flags should have been crimson but being unemployed they looked pink. Powervision contracted us on behalf of CCK global also known as Connective CX owned by Kim Velin which hasn't paid people a dime since we began working. A lot of excuses have been made and it has been a back and forth with both parties to make matters worse, powervision went completely silent on us and is not working in accordance with the IHRM code of conduct. It is not the first time Kim Velin is doing because there was a group before us that also weren't paid and Kim Velin ended up blaming the HR he had hired at the time for the failure Please bring this to light for young job seekers to be aware of such con-artists. It's been 4 months of no payment
Nyakundi Report is calling on PowerVision and CCK Global, also known as Connective CX, to clarify why customer service representatives worked for four months without pay, and who will take responsibility for the wages they say they are owed.
