An 18-year-old woman has been arrested at Ruai Police Station after police allegedly found escape tools hidden inside a plate of rice she brought for three remanded suspects.

Christine Njoki Gitau visited the station on Monday, September 15, saying she wanted to see three friends arrested over robbery with violence and gang rape allegations.

Police subjected the food to a routine search before allowing it into the cells. Officers reportedly discovered a pair of pliers and a shear concealed beneath the rice, raising suspicions that the tools were intended to help the suspects escape.

The three suspects are Emmanuel Bosire, Ismael Arisa and Brian Gatheru. Police allege they operated an anonymous TikTok page used to lure young women into meetings before robbing and sexually assaulting them.

Gitau remains in custody as detectives investigate whether others were involved.
