EACC has arrested two police officers attached to the Kenya Power Coast Regional Office over allegations of demanding a KSh 100,000 bribe from a resident of Bombolulu.

Inspector Benjamin Ochieng and Corporal Said Bakari are accused of demanding the money after alleging that the complainant had illegally connected electricity at his home.

The officers allegedly offered to stop further investigations and legal action in exchange for the bribe. They were arrested on August 24 after allegedly receiving KSh 50,000 from the complainant.

The two were booked at Central Police Station and later released on KSh 30,000 cash bail as investigations continue.
