Sakaja appoints former Uhuru aide to top Nairobi County job

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has appointed a former aide to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to a senior county government position.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja nominated Dr. Machel Waikenda, a former aide and director of communications during Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency, as the substantive nominee for Nairobi County Secretary.

The appointment adds another experienced national-government figure to Sakaja’s administration and has attracted attention because of the appointee’s previous political connections.
