Onyinkwa- Ruto Presidency can only be achieved on 'Viusasa'
Newsroom Updated 2 min read
Onyinkwa Onyakundi Here is the thing. William Ruto's chances of ascending to the Presidency of Kenya have always been nil, from the word go. Being the most overated politician in Kenya though, it was easy for many people to buy the lie that he stands a chance of being President, until Uhuru, Jubilee and the Kikuyu nation in whose basket he had placed all his eggs begun unleashing the wicked cards they have all along been hiding under the table. Now that we are all agreed that a Ruto Presidency can only be achieved on 'Viusasa', let us examine why his 2022 bid has dissipated like a mouse's fart in a Tsunami. There are 5 solid reasons, but let us examine just one today ~ numbers. It is well known that it is the so called 'deep state' that decided for us who became President in the last three elections. It is also well known that this 'deep state' has already decided who won't become President in the next elections. Numbers didn't matter the last 3 elections, and certainly won't matter in the next. That is just how it is. But let us say ~ even if just for the heck of it ~ that in 2022, votes are counted, that they count and the candidate with the highest count becomes President. William Ruto would still be whitewashed the way Liverpool whitewashed Arsenal. Here is why.
It is sad, but also true that our ethnic communities are the stock of trade in our politics. Equally sad but true is the reality that only 5 or so of our ethnic communities pack a punch powerful enough to sway the results in one direction or the other. These are the Kamba, the Kikuyu, the Kalenjin, the Luo and the Luhya. Of these, Ruto only has votes in one ~ his Kalenjin community ~ and even those are largely perceived rather than real if we are to go beyond just scratching the surface. I wish to flesh out his position in each of these 5, as well as in 5 other 'second tier communities' namely the Maasai, the Abagusii, Coastals, North Easterners and the Ameru.
Unfortunately though, i must interrupt doing the post now, and do so on the comments section as and when i steal a few moments off this other task.
