The people entrusted to keep, maintain and enforce law and order are the very people who are breaking it. They arrogantly and shamelessly trample on the law and regulations without the blinking their eyes.

Evan Nganga Gicharu, who is the Assistant County Commissioner- Nyeri Kieni Sub-county is forcefully constructing a multi-dwelling flat in a controlled single dwelling estate within Kenyatta Road, Windridge Estate without County government or community approval.

This is impunity and lawlessness of the highest order that brings a big shame to the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National government.

The perpetrator was Issued with an Enforcement notice on 4th Jan 2021 stopping any further construction and requiring him to return the ground to its original state.

However, with total disregard to the orders, he has continued with construction and has been intimidating residents reminding them that he is the government, telling them that he can do what he wishes.

He has in fact sent armed policemen to harass the residents on several occasions.
