Nyakundi Fact Check: The Truth About The Interpol Letter Addressed To Kenyan Drug-lords
Newsroom Updated 2 min read
This past week, anyone with an active internet connection must have seen a letter addressed to Kenyan drug-lords which was allegedly sent by the Interpol.
In the letter, eight Kenyan individuals are said to be under Interpol's radar and wanted for massive trafficking of drugs across the world.
When we at CNYAKUNDI.COM received the letter from a member of the public, we sat down and did a necessary fact check and we can now confirm that the contents of the letter are false.
After approaching Interpol's head office to seek clarity on the letter, they immediately identified the viral letter as a fake. They went on to confirm that they haven't released any list of wanted individuals regarding the supply of narcotics in Kenya and that if they did so, it would be shared through their official channels and given to the members of the press. Caption: The alleged letter from Interpol Even before contacting Interpol, the letter had a huge mistake where they said that the wanted individuals were eight then went ahead and listed nine, something an organization as big as Interpol wouldn't do.
The quality of the fake letter was also noticeably poor and Interpol would not release such important information while displayed in such a poor way.
CNYAKUNDI.COM continues to spearhead the fight against fake news despite sponsored propaganda by the highly threatened and jealous mainstream media categorizing Cyprian Nyakundi's blog as a source of fake news.
