New Chrome extension will let you know If your account’s Password has been Hacked.

The internet has become a nice place for information gathering and socializing. However it has been classified as the most dangerous place to be if you are somebody who is really concerned about their privacy.

Most people have opted to the use of different passwords for every online accounts such as banking or even socializing. However, Passwords breach has become a norm in today’s technological world and it’s something that is not about to end anytime soon. With various hackers coming up with simple hacking tools like Phishing sites that collects all your important login information’s, it is hard to tell whether your passwords have been compromised.

Well the days of being in the dark of whether your passwords have been exposed to unauthorized users are finally over. Being ‘Safe internet week’, Tech giant google has launched a new Chrome extension which will make sure your passwords are safe and secure.

The tool dubbed ‘Password Checkup tool’ is capable of alerting users if their username and password that they are currently using were stolen in any recent data breaches and if your password is among millions of leaked accounts.

According to Google the new Chrome extension uses a special technique called Blinding in order to match your password with Google's database of users names and password in an encrypted format.

The tool is expected to play an important role in protecting all of its user's accounts from third-party data breaches.

In any event that a breach is detected the extension will show a pop-up ‘ unsafe password detected’ and prompts you to change your login credentials immediately.
