Nakuru - Eldoret Highway A Cash Cow For Rogue Traffic Police Officers
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
Traffic police officers are fond of collecting bribes, even when they are supposed to be enforcing the law. This habit has led to increase in deaths on our roads caused by among other things, drunk drivers, unroadworthy vehicles. The officers are often bribed to look the other way. There have been many cases of police officers arrested by Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) officers taking bribes. Weve received reports of rampant bribery of traffic police officers along the Nakuru - Eldoret highway between Greensteds academy, Molo junction and Timboroa We are told that the askaris are making good money from personal cars. Drivers of the vehicles are harassed and threatened with arrests if they don’t comply. We call upon the Inspector General of Police Mr. Hillary Mutyambai to look into this. EACC should send officers to that place and rid it of this menace. Let drivers breathe.
