More Kenyans Continue To Complain About The Corruption At The Immigration Offices
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
Hello Cyprian. I saw you post on something related to the passport issue at the Immigration Office whereby there is a rot in those offices, corruption, and unaccountability. https://nyakundireport.com/staff-at-the-national-registration-of-persons-exposed-for-openly-asking-for-bribes-from-the-public/ I would like the goverment to know that the immigration office is killing most Kenyans' dreams. Those who want to go study abroad, fend for their families or seek treatment. I applied for my passport in the beginning of October this year at the Kisumu Immigration Offices and since I live in Nakuru, there were two numbers that are provided for enquiries and follow up, none is working. I have posted severally on the #AskImmigrationKenya Twitter handle to enquire about my passport status and received no reply. I decided to go to the immigration offices in Kisumu to inquire and shockingly, I was told "it's as if my files didn't go to Nairobi and they are looking for them and the reasons to why they didn't go to Nairobi". Do the file have legs to go to Nairobi? Does that mean someone ain't doing their job right? Or do they need "something" to "smoothen" the process? I would urge media to do an undercover investigation and expose what goes on at the Immigration offices. Anyone who can help me out on this please? My passport tracking number is 1310033756. Thank you.
