Police in Chad have arrested a cabinet minister after reports that he was keeping a 14 year old girl as his wife. According to a local media house in Chad, Azzai Mahamat Hassane married the 14 year old in a customary ceremony in 2017.
His lawyer has however, vehemently denied the claims that his client married to a minor and insists the girl is of legal age.
The minister now risks jail time if the claims are established to be true.
