Story · Mall inSecurity: Thieves Breaking Into Cars At Sarit Center

Cnyakundi.com received the below complaint from a shopper whose car was broken into at Sarit Centre.

Hey guys. Just wanted to share with you what happened today at Sarit Silo car park. My car got broken into from the side window at the back and laptop back stolen. The thief took cash, mobile phone and electronics all from the bag and left the rest of the stuff in the bag and disposed it off within the Silo.

This happened at exactly 11.30am, yesterday (6th April, 2020).

There seems to be no security at all or whatever security is there it is very minimal. Furthermore, the security team really seemed lethargic and didn’t seem to care going as far as to accuse me of not being careful etc etc.

This is meant to be the busiest and the best mall in Kenya. You would think they would take it seriously but it really isn’t being taken seriously at all.

You can clearly see the broken window and glass on the ground but no security guard was aware of this until I came back to my car 2 hours later at 1:30 pm.

Kindly be careful not to leave valuables in the car. Especially in this current situation. Also note CCTV footage showed the man was masked (corona) which is the perfect excuse for thieves now to walk around like that.

Just sharing so you can let your loved ones know and to be careful too.
