Licensed Gun Holders Asked To Surrender All Their Firearms

The government through Interior Security Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has asked all licensed gun holders to surrender their firearms.

Matiang'i has said the move is in preparation for a new firearm licensing body being put in place by the government and that the Firearms Licensing and Control Board has been suspended. The CS also said this decision was made in a bid to improve security in the country and separate legitimate gun holders from the fakes.
